September 9 - Day 20

Big changes happened here this afternoon :)

We now have a blue-eyed bald beauty :). Today Evelyn's hair really started falling out - every move she made a handful of hair came out and ended up in her mouth, face or shoulders. This was really bothering her so we decided to take the plunge this afternoon and buzz it down. It was a mix of emotions for us but knew it was for the better. It helps us that she doesn't care whether or not she has hair - she's still smiling :).

Things have been pretty quiet at our house the last couple days. We have been laying low because Evelyn's immune system is down but since everyone was healthy we were able to get out and take her to Dad and Mom North's for dinner on Sunday night. Evelyn was happy to see and play with all her cousins :). Evelyn is slowing down quite a bit and most days she wants to be held or just lays on the couch.

But she has her moments where energy kicks in and is back to her normal self.

We've noticed some physical changes in her as well - along with some weight lose she also has some swelling in the face from her steroids. Our physiotherapist advised us to keep her active and moving although it can be hard sometimes. We usually take her for a walk around the block every day and try to get her to climb stairs or play outside. If all continues to go well we will not have to head back to the hospital until Thursday. Then she will have blood work and another round of chemo. It's hard for us to watch Evelyn's activity and health decline but we know its overall for the good and she is constantly in the care of her Heavenly Father.

"Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings". - Psalm 36:5-7

  8. Ah, we've been thinking and praying of you and your little family daily. So many in our community have been lifting you and your needs before the LORD! Praying for strength, wisdom and peace for you all. She is such a little doll! I'm sure that at her age it's confusing and yet sometimes maybe a little easier as she doesn't understand it all. I hope Charlotte is doing well with all of these new changes as well! If ever you need someone to watch Charlotte while you go to the hospital/doctor or just run errands, please let me know! I'm usually home and my kids love having visitors! :)
